All of us at the Soref JCC are sad to learn of the passing of Dr. James Phillips.  Dr. Phillips and his wife Ava have been long-time leaders of the Soref JCC and esteemed members of our Jewish community.  Dr. Phillips served as President of the Soref JCC from 1988 – 1990.  He is the founder of Chabad of Plantation and a driving force in founding the David Posnack Hebrew Day School.  Both Dr. Phillips and Ava were honored by the Soref JCC in 2017 with the Alvin Gross Jewish Community Service Award for their extraordinary contribution to our Jewish community.
