Traditional Lifeguard Training Classroom Course - 4 Day Course  (Cost: $250 per student)

This course is designed for participants that prefer the traditional class room setting.  Instructor guided lectures and hands-on pool training sessions are used to teach participants basic water safety and proper protocols when dealing with aquatic emergencies.  Entries, rescues, CPR, First-Aid, and how to handle suspected spinal injuries are all taught and practiced.

Blended Learning Class - 2 Day Course  (Cost: $250 per student)

This format allows students to watch American Red Cross instructional videos at the convenience of their home.  Course information will be delivered through a web based presentation. Students then attend two full day training sessions at the pool to practice hands-on rescues, entries, CPR, First Aid, and how to handle spinal injuries.

Lifeguard Review/Re-certification Course - 2 Day Course  (Cost: $135 per student)

This class is designed to re-certify lifeguards who are currently certified to extend their certification for another two years.  This class is only offered for those whose certification is still valid (or within 30 days of expiring).

2.  Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.  Hands should be placed under your armpits.

3.  Complete the the timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds (swim goggles are not allowed on this skill)

  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards with your face in or out of the water.
  • Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object.
