Israel Independence Day

The Soref JCC is proud to play a lead role in our community's celebration of Israel's birthday.  We plan to celebrate Israel's 63rd birthday in May 2011. 

In honor of Israel's special 60th birthday, our JCC participated at the Nova Southeastern University event hosted by the Jewish Federation of Broward County on May 4.  About 40,000 attended this event that showcased live entertainment in the university's gym. 

Our JCC sponsored an eight-building exhibit by the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Boston called A Walk Through Jerusalem.  Thousands strolled through "gates" into rooms that featured poetry, music, games and artifacts from the city.
